As Below, So Above

Reborn in another world of magic and flying ships, Det only wants one thing—to leave.

For twenty years, Det has lived on one of the many pillars emerging from a deadly sea of mist, and suffered the abuse of the locals. As a ReSouled, he’s accused of hijacking the body of an unborn baby, replacing its soul with his own, and being born in its place. Not that he really gives a damn what they think.

From the moment he found himself reborn in a superhuman body with the magic to bring the ink-wash paintings he creates to life, he’s only had one focus. One plan. One goal. To get home to the wife and daughter he left behind on Earth. In all that time, nothing has worked. Now, though, the fabled Mistguard—an organization of ReSouled like him—are coming to recruit him. With magic and resources far beyond what’s available to him now, the answer to getting home could finally be within reach.

To succeed, he’ll need to excel in an academy of legendary difficulty, take the mastery of his magic to the pinnacle, and survive the threat that brought ReSouled to this world in the first place. Maybe suplex a dragon or two along the way, if needed.

That’s fine with Det. He’ll do whatever it takes to get back to where he’s supposed to be.

Whatever. It. Takes.

Time for Chaos

Science, measurement, counting have all been outlawed because of the danger they pose – the chaos energy they create.

Energy that bloodthirsty sorcerers would use to restart the wars that nearly destroyed the world, or so the Mediators say. Meanwhile, Clocksmiths working to preserve shattered pieces of the past are trapped between the two sides as the only reliable source for the watches used to power sorcerous magic.

Tel is a simple Clocksmith, wanting nothing more than to hide away and focus on his peaceful hobby.

Anad is a Mediator, a protector of the people against the danger of sorcerers and the chaos magic they wield.

Shara is a thief and a sorcerer, using her magic to enrich herself no matter who it hurts – as long as she gets what she’s after.

Or, are they?

After a bloody raid on an enclave full of lost and forbidden technology, Tel and Shara are forced on the run, Anad hot on their heels. The Mediator has simple orders – kill any sorcerers or Clocksmiths he finds. Except, one of his targets isn’t a stranger, and Anad has questions. It’s just too bad the pair won’t stay in one place long enough for him to ask. Then again, they’re rightfully afraid of him executing them.

As he closes in, a new danger begins to stir nearby. One that threatens them all. And, although their roles mean they can never really be friends, if they can’t put aside their differences – at least for the moment – they’ll never be able to survive what’s coming for them.

Borrowed Time

Officer Misako Aiko was there when the bomb went off. Halfway around the world, Detective Alex Stokes needs to help her catch the one responsible before it happens again.

Despite her job, Officer Misako Aiko didn't expect to find a bomb in Narita Airport, or to be the last person to see its victims alive. The other thing she didn't expect to see? The prime suspect. She did, though, and that sends her from Japan to Canada in search of answers.

Unfortunately for her, she gets partnered up with Detective Alex Stokes of the Toronto time-crime division, an officer who works far better on his own. What he lacks in social skills, he more than makes up for in investigative acumen... at least if he's the one telling the story.

Together, the two will need to get past their personal differences if they're to have a chance at piecing together how an impossible crime was committed, and to stop it from happening again. Except, in a world where hours are bought and sold on the open market, and used to pause time, crime has taken on a whole new level of complexity, and dangerous enemies are around every corner.

Leaky Dreams

Jake is a Waking Dreamer, able to bring his dreams to life. Chris is his Tether, the man responsible for keeping Jake leashed and under control. No matter what it takes.

At his age, Chris should be considering retirement. Hobbies after his years on the force. As the Hero of the Nightscape, he isn't so lucky. Instead, he's a Tether, responsible for a kid with power far beyond his years. Power to bring any - and all - of his dreams to life. Literally.

On its own, that wouldn't be so much trouble. Jake isn't a bad kid. Good heart. Wants to do right. They even make a good team, investigating cases where other sleeping Dreamers are manifesting their dreams in the waking world. Normally, a cup of cold water to the face or a good shake is enough to end the threat and move on.

Not anymore. Dreamers aren't waking up like they should. And their dreams are getting more and more out of control. More dangerous. Something is going on, and people are starting to die.

Retirement will have to wait.

Tempest Born

Magic hidden within pounding drums. A secret buried in history. An unseen monster stalking the forest.

The killing has just begun - the storm is coming.

For Syl and her friends, it was meant to be a week of celebration and competition. A time of food, festivities, and friendship in their secluded valley. Instead, as villagers get killed - horribly - answers become what everybody is after. Syl more than the rest, after a chance encounter with the hidden monster sparks its unhealthy interest in her.

Though she escaped from it once, escape doesn't mean survival, and the predator isn't finished with Syl just yet.

Blood Dancer

Within a domed city protecting civilization from a sun that turns all life to steel, Little Shadow excels at two things: Killing and fabulous boots.

Years after a harrowing encounter with a slaver awoke a dangerous, god-touched power in her blood, and left her best friend maimed, Little Shadow stalks the metal, dimly lit streets that know her only as 'The End'. Each job is a step in preparation for finding that slaver again. Each kill a flex of her power bringing her closer to her revenge.

In the meantime, between murder, mayhem, and an unnatural fixation on boot buckles, it’s business as usual for this killer-for-hire. That is, until she notices a strange similarity between seemingly unrelated jobs. A hauntingly-familiar brand on the targets’ chests keeps showing up.

Now, pulled into the growing conspiracy - just for doing her job, bloody as it may be - Little Shadow has enemies coming at her from all sides. And, the only clue that might hold the key to her getting out of the mess - or just get her in deeper - is a thread leading back to her own past.

A certain slaver she's been hoping to meet for a while.
